Extension (Design and Details)
I selected my site as an apartment and studied about its structure and material. I made an balcony like extension which is held by metal rods. I selected a window to place my extension. In order to place the extension, the materials used and the joinery details were important to be understood.
After studying the house and its materials properly, we took ahead the design of the extension.In order to understand how the extension will joint the existing structures we did some research on various materials and their joinery to similar or other materials. After deciding wood members as the parts joining the existing structure, I figured out the joinery required. Similarly the wooden plank, the metal rods, the railings. I made a model to understand it better. This helped me in understanding the construction and material aspects of a structure.
