Summer Internship
I worked at an architectural firm, STUPA (Studio of Planning and Architecture) based in Nashik to gain a formal experience of working in a firm. Also to gain practical knowledge and develop technical skills.
About the practice
STUPA (Studio of Planning and Architecture) headed by Ar. Nitin Patel believes in the strength of design. The practice spreads across Nashik, Malegaon and Pune.
The firm specializes in residential, institutional and commercial projects.

Site Visits :
Residential Project
In this site visit, I learned about the strategic placement of columns, beams layout, sunken slab, pelmet, partition walls, voids ( lift and ducts), sill and lintel levels for different rooms / spaces, light points, directions of openings for light and ventilation.
Commercial Project
This site was a big complex with two basement floors, double height spaces and voids. I learned about the scale this project deals with, the fire fighting system used for such projects, how different materials and components come together. Also, took measurements for reference for a office to be designed.
Material Selection :
Curtains and headboard fabric selection for various rooms in an ongoing residential project.
Learned about different fabrics and their use. Sheer curtains were chosen for some rooms to allow light to filter through, creating an airy ambience while heavier fabrics were chosen for bedrooms to provide privacy and insulation.

The internship was a valuable opportunity that helped me grow as a student, as a designer, and as a person.
