Rebuilding the Vinchvadevi Temple
'Vinchvadevi', the totem goddess of the Kond village in Shrivardhan. This module started after the settlement study of the Kond village. Initially we were divided into groups in order to get a site, mine was the Goddess Vinchvadevi Temple. Then we started with reading the text from Cortozor's book, Hopscotch. My text was about the moment when we wake up. Working on it further I developed drawings. And then we concluded it with developing an intervention on the site.
These are the pictures of the original site of the Vinchvadevi Temple.
The Cortozar's Text gave a sense of space between the dream and reality. The text gives the sense of space encountered when you wake up, that is somewhere between the dream and the reality. I was working with the randomness and absurdness of thoughts that come to our mind when we wake up. How thoughts from that moment can create a space. I tried to create such space with the site of the temple. Eventually making an spatial apparatus that gives a sense of the absurd space between dream and reality. The spatial apparatus helped in developing the design of the temple to be rebuilt. Taking it ahead, I made a model of the rebuilt temple with the contours of the site.
